I'm considering the Sterling Ridge and Sunnyridge sections of Harrison. Will plane noise be an issue in these areas? Also, is there anything else I should be aware of or take into consideration when looking at homes in these areas? Thanks in advance.

I live almost the exact same distance from the airport in the other direction (southernmost section of Chappaqua) and I can tell you that the plane noise is basically non-existent on my end. They definitely come in low and you can hear them if you're outside, but I sleep with windows open in the summer and I'm never awoken by a plane.

I have a coworker who lives in Rye Brook much closer to the airport, and that's a whole different story. I was having tea in his house in the wintertime (i.e. all windows and doors closed), and it was LOUD when the planes came through.

Unfortunately that's all the info I have to offer as my knowledge focuses more on northern Westchester than southern, but I wouldn't expect the planes to be so bad since my runway direction and distance is roughly the same as yours would be.

We looked at a lot of houses in Harrison but never heard any plane noise. Maybe in Purchase?

A few things of note:
1) Bardion Lane in Sunnyridge, most of it is on Septic Tank except for the first 3 houses
2) A lot of the Trails area floods during heavy rain
3) The houses on Pleasant Ridge Road where the backyard faces the Hutch, you can really hear the noise from the cars.

I live in Sterling Ridge. I think on occasion I've heard a plane but the same as how just about anywhere else you can occasionally look up and see a plane. Not an issue.

There is definitely a noise issue with neighborhoods near the ends of the runway at HPN/in line with the ends of the runway, but we are far from that.
