what is the typical response time from realtors? I have emailed a few of them trying to find someone to work with us. We are first time home buyers so we dont know the process. I emailed about 4 two days ago and still no response. Is this normal?
When we first looked at houses, we either contacted the seller’s agent or went to open houses. You don’t need a buyer’s agent on day 1 since most listings filter down from MLS to the various real estate sites.
I'd be happy to provide a reputable realtor that my wife and I used for two apartments and our first home. We've worked with her for over 7 years and she is the absolute best. I first inquired about a rental property on a Sunday night around 8 PM and she called me within 5 minutes and spoke to me for an hour to understand my needs.
PM me for contact information. She serves central/northern Westchester and Putnam.
My experience with realtors (renter, not buyer, FWIW) is that they don't answer cold emails at all. Call on the phone, then they will take you seriously.
I'd recommend reaching out to friends/colleagues for recommendations for realtors/buyer's agents. With a recommendation from a past client, realtors may be more willing to reach out to you in a timely manner.
I'd be happy to recommend the agent we are working with--she is also working with friends of ours and is fantastic. PM for the contact information, if you want.
