Smile How safe is Lake street?

I am a local Realtor, I would strongly advise you to contact the police department, they will tell you honestly how the crime rate is.

That is true in any of the towns in Westchester county.

All the best

Kevin O'Shea

My aunt, uncle and cousin lived at 125 Lake Street in White Plains a long time ago and it was not a project or subsidized housing at all. It was a clean, well kept working class apartment building. I think there was a park next to it and a deil on the other side. Back then the closer you were to North Broadway the better. The other direction going down Lake Street wasn't the greatest and over near Ferris avenue where the corner bar was and where folks would jog around the track was questionable.

Call the police department for the crime stats in the area. Then make your own decision.

Default Lake Street

25 Lake Street is across from the park and deli and safe.

I knew a young man who lived in or near 125 Lake Street, shortly. He felt unsafe.

lake st and all of white plains is safe if you're comparing to an urban community, which to my opinion means its safe.

Also they have the delicious sunshine deli for great inexpensive mexican which is also always a plus.

I've lived on Lake Street for 12 years, and I can honestly say that nothing bad has ever happened. I've also walked home several times by myself, since I was 10 years old, and arrived home safely. But I do agree on some of what the others are saying, South Kensico isn't bad at all, but North Kensico? yes that one is a "stay away" street. Although, I know almost everyone who live and hang out on that street, so therefore, me as a young lady can walk up or down that street, at any time, and arrive to my destination safely.

P.S. There is NOTHING wrong with living in a subsidized housing building, I love it actually, with this economy? I'm eligible to pay low rent, and live in a comfortable and beautiful apartment. Everyone in my building are friendly. The environment is positively marvelous. My building also has a computer center down stairs, for kids to enjoy doing their homeworks, and helping others. The community also provide field trips to amazing places, mostly for kids, and parents can tag along also.

So please if you don't know the real details on the lake street area, then please don't say rude comments about the community.
