During warmer weather months, Westchester county can be great for shopping, socializing, and enjoying nature. I noticed that some towns use parking meters and others don’t. Is this coming from an economic standpoint? Why wouldn’t other towns start enforcing meters to help their finances?

And while we are on the subject, is there any website that clearly states what time parking is free in some towns? I would like to know this before my next outing. I know some towns parking is free after 6.

Every town is represented by different elected official who make independent decisions.
I know of no such website. Most towns do link to their codes and you would have to do the work/digging.

Uhhh, I think he is clearly asking that if it is such an economic boom to the towns that do it, why wouldn't other towns do it too.

Check local village/town websites for parking restrictions. They generally vary by lot vs. street meters.

This. You have to read the signs on the street or in the lot. Sometimes the times are village-wide, but not always.

Now some towns have put plastic bags on meters indicating it is for “curbside pickup only.” I guess local establishments have gotten permission to do this.
