The area east of the shopping center that has Trader Joes and Best Buy, between Central Park Ave and Bronx Parkway. It's on the Western tip of White Plains, near the border with Hartsdale. Is it considered an unsafe area ?
Are you referring to West Post Road? I wouldn't say it is unsafe.
It's no Scarsdale. And not as nice as it used to be. I can't speak for schools there though.
But my mom lives in Hartsdale and I go through there often.
The further north you go it gets a little junky but still I wouldn't say unsafe.
I was born in the Bronx and lived in the nyc for a long time so unsafe may be relative ;p
I think you might be referring to the Battle Hill section of White Plains. There are some posts on this thread about the area if you search. I lived there for 4 years and never felt unsafe, nor did my wife. It's generally a less expensive area than downtown White Plains given it's proximity is not as walkable as living in the central part of the city, but in my experience, it's a perfectly safe place to live.
