Hi,
I am interested in finding out about townhouses with Hudson River views, especially between Irvington and Croton-on-Hudson. I would like a place that has 3-4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, updated baths and kitchen, and views of the water (It doesn't matter if the views are distant.). I would like to spend a maximum of $525K. I'm figuring that the way the market is these days, even if the offering price is higher, I could settle on something in the low 500s, or even high 400s. Is this a realistic amount for what I want? If not, what should I expect to pay?
1. Can anyone tell me which ones are especially beautiful with great amenties? By "beautiful" I mean well-maintained grounds and common areas, gorgeous river views, well-proportioned rooms and good floor plans. Which complexes would you recommend and why?
2. Also, since most of these would be right near the MetroNorth train line, how noisy are the trains?
3. Are the "jitney" services frequent and reliable? What are the jitneys like?
4. What kind of restrictions and rules are to be expected in such communities? For example are there restrictions on whether you can plant your own flowers and shrubs in front of your home, or barbecuing on decks, etc.
5. I've heard that Half Moon Bay and Eagle Bay in Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson are nice. Does anyone know about one called Beechwood in Scarborough (I think this is a section of Briarcliff Manor)? Please let me know what you think of these.
Thanks for your help.
