My wife, I and our 21 month old son are planning to buy a house in Tuckahoe this summer and moving up there from Queens. We drove around few times and loved the area. We've heard that this is a middle class area with decent school system. Is it family oriented/friendly with down-to-earth people? Does it have the feel of community to it? How expensive is actually living there? What else should we consider before moving to Tuckahoe? Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom.
I grew up in Manhattan and the Bronx and am very familiar with the area. I think you will love it. It is nice and close to Manhattan by train and car.
You can find out info on prices by going to Realtor.com. I showed a few houses that needed some work in the mid 500's you can find something fairly nice for less than $900,000. All the best!
