Rentals in Westchester (Mamaroneck, Harrison, Scarsdale: real estate, houses, school district)

Hi, we are a family of four with elementary grade level kids, looking to move to Westchester, NY.
We would like to rent first before we settle. Looking for great resources to find a rental place or local mom and pop real estate agency with direct connection with landlord.
Towns interested: Harrison, Scarsdale, Hasting on Hudson, Ardsley and Mamaroneck.
We've been checking Zillow daily with not much luck.

Ah okay. Have you checked out Westchester magazine? They have a good real estate section that may be able to point you in the right direction.

If you are looking for single family house rentals, you can search on sites like HoulihanLawrence.com (please note that you need to create an account to access all of the features) and define your criteria. You can select the school district, max price, etc.

There isn't much in Scarsdale right now and in general everywhere but it should pick up over the next few months. A lot of rentals come on the market in late June - August, Usually houses that didn't sell will also be listed for rent since it takes around 2 months to close and people want to get into the house before the start of the new school year.

Regarding Harrison, a lot of the inventory (most multi-family houses) is for Parsons Elementary. The better elementary school is Harrison Ave Elementary so I would focus on that.
