You could live here without a car, especially a five minute walk from Metro North, you have the stores and restaurants around. You could also rent a car when you need it.

All the best!

It is totally feasible to live in Harrison without a car, if you're near the train station, as Kev said. Harrison has restaurants, bars, a few grocery stores, some businesses, dr offices, tons of parks (at least 5 within less than a mile of each other), a town pool, a library, concerts in the park Thursday night during the summer, lots of free and cheap family recreation. If you're near the train station, then you'll also be near most of those things, as they're all in the same section (the parks might be .2 to 1 mile from the center, but that's not a big deal).

BUT--there is no movie theatre in harrison, no big store like target, or chain places, if you like that sort of thing. But if your social life is mostly in nyc, then you have the train to get you there anyway. So it depends on what kind of lifestyle you lead. If you don't think you'll want to go to other towns like White Plains or Greenwich or whatever, then you'd be fine. Harrison also has a great train line with more frequent stops than a lot of other stations, so that is a perk--going up to CT or down to NYC.
