Considering moving to Bronxville, NY from NYC because of schools and the need for more apartment space.

See these types of listings frequently:
https://www.zillow.com/b/25-parkview...lle-ny-5YKVDy/

There are several apartment buildings (I think most of them if not all are cooperatives) on the other side of highway that have 2bd-3br apartments in our desired price range of $3500-4500 for rent, 700-850K for sale.

We want to live in an apartment, need a 2br/2bath, like Bronxville because of schools (our kids need a good high school) and quick and convenient commute into Midtown, and the fact that the town is walkable and we would only need a car on weekends if we live within walking distance to the MetroNorth train stop.

But wondering what it's like living in these apartment buildings. Are they safe? Is this area safe for a kid to walk around on their own during the day? Is it considered "OK/good" in this very wealthy suburb where the houses cost millions and most well to do people probably avoid apartments?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

This building is located in the city of Yonkers, not Bronxville village.

thank you!

Yes, didn't realize it. And it is assigned to a different high school.

Does Bronxville have any apartment buildings?

They do but not highrises.

Here's an example of an apt that you could rent.

I recommend creating an account on www.houlihanlawrence.com and searching by school district there. If you are looking to rent, search with a max budget (e.g. $5,000 or $10,000).

There are a few midrise buildings in the downtown area of Bronxville

As another post noted, many of the apartment buildings in "Bronxville" are really in Yonkers, both in terms of city and school district. They are advertised as being in "Bronxville" because the Bronxville zip code, 10708, includes a part of Yonkers that borders Bronxville, as such mail can be legitimately addressed as "Bronxville, NY" but you pay Yonkers taxes and have to send your kids to Yonkers schools.

There's actually a tiny part of Northeast Yonkers (but mostly houses and not apartments) that actually uses the SCARSDALE zip code of 10583. But same deal there, it's not the Scarsdale school district.

there are red brick coops like the one imaged in Bronxville.
There is ALden place. Midland Gardens, Tanglewood.

Bronxville is ridiculously safe in the village area. Kids regularly walk to school by themselves. and at lunch, many kids leave school to hit up the deli and pizza places in the village by themselves.

These coops are very walkable to town and Metro station so I think new postings are not very often though.
