So I'm starting a search for a 1bdrm co-op in westchester, or would even entertain something 2bdrm, but that'd move out of my price range. I'd entertain it for the idea of be able to rent a room out. Seems like it'd go a long long way to help with mortgage, but a co-op board might make that a pain.

Regardless I wanna pay 125-175 for a 1bdrm. Would move up the ladder to 200 for a "2 bdrm".

A plus would be to be close to a train. I know the area inside out, and have been curious at places like irvington or tarrytown. Any suggestions well recieved as always.

Aw, please, don't buy anything now! Prices are falling faster by the month. I'd like to buy up there too, but next year at the soonest. The bubble will deflate faster the more of us who just say nope.

well it's going to take almost that amount of time to buy something. I'm still halfway to the amount I want to put down. So you think waiting a bit longer will be a great idea.

Default Co-ops

You should be able to find something in that range in Port Chester. There are a lot of co-ops on the market here now too, so I think you would have some bargining power to make a lower offer. The train station is walkable/ bikable from most parts of town, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops here as well.

Hi,

I saw a 1 Bedroom in Hartsdale on the MLS for $110,000 today, it seems like a real bargain. The Hartsdale Ave. area is nice and an easy walk to the RR station.

Sometimes you can get things in White Plains in that range.
All the best!
