Sort of like an "online" slam book that would make the rounds in high school...

Exquisite "You know you're white and rich and from Westchester when..." list. My butler and I found this positively charming.

Anecdotally, find that lower-income areas often have more dangerous/inept drivers....they don't hand out certain cars to just anyone.....tailgating, running red lts, DUI driving, etc....and if involved in collision...or car develops flat tire/disabling mechanical probs, would not want to be caught on such surface streets waiting for help....

Already, the drive from Midtown to Greenwich is among most dangerous upscale commutes in US....having to traverse the wastelands of UpperManhattan and Bronx already elevates one's daily risk exposure....

You know you're not from Westchester (or the East coast) when you call highways and parkways freeways. It took my native west coaster wife a few years but she got it.

My poor butler has to live in Bronxville. How horrifying!

(I live in a massive luxury apartment that hangs from a dirigible floating 2,000 feet above the village).

You know you're a parent in Westchester if:

Your child is studying Mandarin Chinese in kindergarten

Your teen's idea of community service is building outhouses in Ecuador.

You pay an outrageous price for a house with outrageous property taxes in a "top" school district because you think if your kids go to a "top" school district they will get into a great Ivy school.

When the reality is if your kid does get into a great Ivy school, he/she was probably smart enough that it didn't matter which school district you lived in.

Rather, you pay an outrageous price for a house with outrageous property taxes in a "top" school district because you know that with the small classes, individual attention, good teachers and extra help, your kid is going to college, rather than joining NY Dep't of Sanitation, which is what he'd be doing if you lived in Queens.

Lots of Queens residents who attended Townsend Harris, Molloy, Mary Louis, Stuy, Regis, Xavier and other excellent magnet and Catholic schools go to impressive science and engineering colleges. You don't need to move out of Queens to get an excellent education.
