Advice on moving to Scarsdale area (Eastchester, Hartsdale: apartments, lease, hotel)

Now we are definitelly going and hope to get there for the beggining of the school year. Thank you to everyone who helped us make that decision.

We are a brazilian family with 3 daughters, 15, 13 and 3 and a nanny. My husband and I will be working in NY.

I still have lots of questions:
- Are Bronxville, Scarsdale, Harstsdale, Edgemont and Eastchester school districts all good ? Thats where we have been looking on the internet and are planning to live.
- Is there an apart-hotel, or furnished apartments in that area that we can rent until we find a house and our furniture gets there ?
- For 2 working in NY (Grand Station), and having free parking, is it worth going by car or the train is still the best option ?
- What documents will the schools require of our kids for enrollment ? What do we do, just show up at the office ? Can we register them before we have a permanet address ?
- Are there any public English language courses that my daughters nanny can take ?

You have many choices. Every school district mentioned except for Hartsdale is very good. Some people may argue that the best school districts are Scarsdale and Bronxville, because it shows in their SAT scores, but Eastchester is very good too. I know many people in the Eastchester school district and they are very happy. My daughter will be attending Eastchester High School in September and the school looks like a warm environment.

I just moved to Eastchester and I needed my first ConEd bill for the new apartment (I rent) and I needed the ORIGINAL lease. I had a copy of the lease and they would not accept this. They wanted to see the original ink on the paper. I do not think you can just show up at the office. In my case, I had to make an appointment to enroll my daughter. I do not think you could register them before you have a permanent address. I am sure their are english learning classes in Southern Westchester for your nanny to take. Good Luck in your decision!
