Just to clarify my comment: I left NYC in order to live in a 'rural' and 'country' setting, while still being close to the city and every possible amenity--which is exactly what I have in Yorktown. If my wife and I ever want to move to a town (which I doubt!), then Peekskill will certainly be on our short list of options.
