Hello - I've enjoyed bike riding on the off-road bike paths near Croton and Yorktown. Does anybody know any streets with wide shoulders that they would recommend riding on?
Lots of people bike on 129, which has wide shoulders. Croton Avenue, Hunterbrook road, and Baptist Church road are also very popular with bicyclists (and walkers), as is Croton Dam Road--those don't have wide (or any) shoulders, but they have 25 MPH limits and lots of curves, so the cars go slowly. There are also a number of roads in the Teatown area and Mt Airy of Croton that are good for biking. Route 9A has wide shoulders, as does Furnace Dock Road. There are a lot of options. I have co-workers who live in Manhattan and come up here just to bike on Weekends.

You have to try the old croton aqueduct.
