I am a native Long Islander and have been looking in quite a few places to settle down and start a family, me and my wife are finacially well-off. I am a lawyer and she is a pharmacist. We need a location with an easy commute to Manhattan, a good school district and plenty of recreation (parks, malls exc.). Our absolute maximum is $850,000, but it be preferable to have it around $800,000. I'm not too fimilar with Weschester County, also it would be nice if the town had a Jewish community. I've also been checked out Riverdale in the Bronx, as well as Plainview, Great Neck and New Hyde Park on Long Island. But, I think I could find the perfect community in Westchester, so what communities fit my criteria?
It looks like Scarsdale might be a good place to look. Rye might be another. New Rochelle and White Plains might not be too bad, depending on where you look in those cities. Cortlandt Manor has been mentioned before.
Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Croton-on-Hudson and Larchmont is what I've narrowed it down to, but I'm still not finished researching Westchester communities, so the list could get longer.
