I'm a 33 yr old single native islander (that's STATEN island), lol, and I have been searching for 5 years for the right place to live. Places I've considered include charlotte & raleigh n.c., nj, singapore, hawaii, austin tx, phoenix az, and manhattan, uhh.. interesting list, no? I've realized moving away from ny is just a wet dream of sorts as I have an elderly mom who won't get up and leave staten island. She's way too settled.
Only recently I've come to a realization that maybe I should be exploring westchester county. The commute to midtown, I work in the fashion district, isn't that bad and I'm sure the county isn't filthy like manhattan is..
So if you were me, 30-something, single professional, indian-american, handsome,SINGLE, volvo owner, (this is turning into a personals ad..). Where in westchester would you look? My criteria is quite simple- I'm searching for a town that's clean (minimal pollution), nice people, no crime, vibrant culturally & nightlifey, and vegetarian friendly would be great. thnks for reading- wish you the best.

Reason: just for shts and giggles
That all depends on what your needs are. If you are looking for an easy commute to NYC and want to be in a nice quiet town, anywhere above white plains, NY is nice. Condos are a great place to start and in the quaint towns (vegan friendly, no to low crime, etc.) you are looking at over 400K for a 2 bd 1.5 bath condo. White Plains is great for nightlife and activities the towns and villages don't offer. Pleasantville (I lived there for 8 yrs) had a few nice cafes, etc. and The Jacob Burns Film Center. That was fun but I also didn't mind taking the metro north down to NYC (approx. 50 minute ride).
You can find some condos around $500k in Westchester, but the only item in your description that gave me pause was nightlife. What sort of nightlife are you seeking? Most of Westchester is made up of quiet bedroom communities that shut down much earlier than Manhattan, and the scene is also more sedate throughout much of the county.
