My wife and I are looking to buy a house in the general Brewster area in the near future. I'll have to commute to NYC daily. I see there are a few stations in the general area with decent parking (Southeast, Purdy's, Goldens Bridge. My understanding is that Croton Falls and Brewster are to be avoided).
Any general advice/tips regarding the commute (i.e. which stations tend to have decent parking and at about what time do the lots fill up)? Anything else I should be aware of (traffic, safety, vandalism issues, etc.) ?
I really appreciate any insights you're willing to share. I commuted from Norwalk & Stamford on the New Haven Line for years; the Harlem line is completely new to me.
Southeast has tons of parking, you will never have to worry about getting a spot but leave yourself about 15 min from when you park, pay and get to the train as it is a massive parking lot. The commute is around 1 hr 20min to Grand Central.
