Hi, All!

I'm currently living in Prague, Czech Republic and looking forward to relocate to NYC some time in the future. I can afford a home in Park Hill, Yonkers. Please share some info on what do you think about this area? Is it safe? Is it a good place to raise kids? Do you think this area is improving or declining with time?

If you live there, do you visit Manhattan often? Can you enjoy what NYC has to offer (restaurants, shops, arts/culture) if you live in Yonkers?

I would appreciate any bit of information.

Thank you so much and greetings from Europe!

Max

i've grew up in yonkers and had friends that lived around park hill. Honestly, I find Park Hill as a rough neighborhood. Its because its parallel with South Broadway. I wouldnt recommend living and raising kids there. Everytime i pass by there, i see kids hanging out in streets rather than be in school. Although it is easy commute to the city. If you are looking for a safer place for your kids and easy commute to NYC, i would suggest bronxville, pelham, north yonkers, scarsdale, dobbs ferry, white plains, (parts of new rochelle). Good luck

There is nothing wrong with Park Hill. The neighborhood is perched high above South Broadway. Nobody is walking up that hill. And South Broadway is not horrible. Check out Silvio's restaurant.

Park Hill runs the gamut. It stretches from South Broadway (not so good) all the way up a large hill to some very nice homes. It is extremely close to NY City and a very easy commute. Do you have an address?

Thanks a lot for your replies. I know it's Marshall Rd. Unfortunately the offer has just been taken by somebody else.
