Why is your heading Yonkers? Yonkers is a city in Westchester County just north of Riverdale.

Mansions in Riverdale can go for a higher price than a Park Avenue apartment.
Technically, it is the Bronx, but people there won't call it that. They live at "Riverdale", or even fancier: "Riverdale-on-Hudson".

Southeast yonkers is within walking distance of the Bronx. There is not alot of crime in this area. Its a mostly working-middle class neighborhood with Irish and Italian residents. YOu could always take the metro-north railroad into Manhattan. Also i believe that there is tons of bus services into the bronx and from there you could take the 1 train from Van Courtland into Manhattan.

Southeast Yonkers is really nice, but if you have kids then you probably won't want to send them to the public schools in Yonkers. Not much crime, and its a very tight knit community.
