Hi there, We are looking to purchase in Ossining and found potential properties north of the train station around Water street. The main concern is my daily walk to and from the station (most likely in the dark at night...)...We've heard that Ossining is not as nice as the other river towns and I'm just wondering if the walk could be potentially dangerous for a single woman... I checked the neighborhood crime rate on line...
honestly, if you know new york then you will appreciate this comment-
from NYC up to pougkkeepsie is a line of criminally laden towns (ie towns that frequent the channel 12 news)
from nys it goes yonkers-ossining- peekskill
each of these cities is for the most part a bad place for a single white woman to walk through at night. and unless you can afford to live in the nicer areas, you will probably be nervous anytime you leave your house.
now i a NOT saying you cant go 30 years without an incident, but you don;t live in the equator and wonder why its so hot all the time.
