I have lived in White Plains for five years, and been party to countless attempts to get Delfino to lift his aracane no parking on the streets overnight rule abolished. It is crazy to me that people who pay taxes cannot park on the streets they fund to be built and clean.
What other towns in Westchester allow residential parking on the streets? Even if you have to pay a town permit.
In many towns and villages in Westchester, you will not be allowed to park your car on the streets overnight between mid-November and mid-March, in order to allow for snow plowing. Buchanan has such a law, but allows overnight street parking during the rest of the year. In Ossining village, you used to have to purchase a street parking permit; I don't know if that still applies now. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
The Town of Bedford has the same regulation with street parking in the winter, where available, since you cannot park on many of the town's rural roads.
Tarrytown requires resident or visitor's permits in some areas to park on the street, since a friend lives there and you need a permit to park in front of their house, but I do not know that's the case for the entire town.
Bronxville does not allow street parking, though the village does have lots that require permits for overnight parking for village residents who do not have a parking spot.
Mount Kisco has repealed the overnight parking ban, even in the winter, sometime in the last few years, I believe, so parking is unrestricted, subject to traffic laws.
Greenburgh still has the ban for overnight parking, only in the winter months, however.
Pelham has a ban in place between 2am-6am year round, for street sweeping. Larchmont has the 2am-6am ban as well, though there are municipal lots where one can get a day/night permit to park. Mamaroneck, I think, requires permits for street parking, but I am not sure of hours that are banned.
