Does anyone have updated insights on the quality of education at west patent elementary and fox lane middle + high schools? has the large % of hispanic population signifcantly detoriated the quality of education? are there programs (e.g., enrichment programs) at the schools for super advanced kids? thank you.

Why don't you call the schools and ask them?

West Patent is among the better schools that feed into Fox Lane, and is generally a respected school in Bedford Central. WP is on par with Pound Ridge and Bedford Village ES. Fox Lane does have a degree of diversity, and in recent years, there has been much investment into the school. I do believe that they have advanced placement classes that serve the needs of more advanced students.

Of the Town of Bedford schools, the other side of town that is in Katonah-Lewisboro tends to have a more homogenous population and has schools that score very well, with John Jay HS tending to outpace Fox Lane in performance by some measures. But, this is not a huge performance gap, and an advanced student at either school should be sufficiently motivated.

Fox Lane is certainly is a much better school than other areas of Westchester that share the same level of diversity. And, Fox Lane has come a long way in recent years, since when I was a child (not that long ago), some people actually moved to the other side of town to get into Katonah-Lewisboro at the HS level for John Jay if the family used the public school system.
