So does anyone know about Yonkers..looking for an apartment in about the $1600-$2000 range..one bedroom. Would be good to be walking distance to the train. Was looking into Avalon apartments but it got really bad reviews on apt.com..so now sure..is Yonkers a good place to live for 30 something young couple with no kids???

I know that White Plains is a great place for a young couple with no kids, its a city so there are lots of restaurants and bars there. Mamaroneck is also a great place for a young couple kids or no kids, not as many restaurants and bars as White Plains, but White Plains is only 15 minutes away. I think Yonkers should be fine as well depending on where you live, I know Bronxville and the part of Yonkers near Bronxville are also good places for a young couple (again not as many restautrants and bars as White Plains), I don't know enough about other neighborhoods in Yonkers to comment on them.

You should be able to get something decent for that price. I used to live in one of the Avalons. They were ok and willing to negotiate. White Plains is probably your best bet as there is more to do for the 30 something couple

what exactly are you guys looking for? nightlife? stores? etc? let us know and we can give you some more detailed replies about specific neighborhoods.

If your just looking for an apartment building in that $$$ range then you can easily find it in any of those locations. They all have walkable neighborhoods situated close to Metro North stations.

It depends on what you are looking for because if you want something less expensive look in Yonkers, if you don't mind spending more look in White Plains. Fleetwood is up and coming as well and all areas are close to a train station. You have plenty places to choose from...believe me.
