Does anyone know what the property taxes are for the towns of Rye, Armonk and Chappaqua? We're looking to move to either Westchester or Fairfield County and there seems to be a significant difference in the tax rate for different towns.
Armonk is Town of North Castle. Taxes are low (for Westchester) NYC and IBM are largest taxpayers in town, about 7% of total tax for each. Chappaqua is Town of New Castle and has higher taxes. Newer houses have much higher taxes than old houses. In North Castle taxes are based almost entirely on the structure not the lot. (In Greenwich, CT, taxes are based on lot and structure and CT requires reassessment every 5 years)
Houses are more expensive in RYE than in Armonk or Chappaqua. Taxes in Rye are high also.
All 3 places have great schools.
