you will all think I'm crazy but I always remembered on the news back in the late winter or early spring of 1978 (I lived in Rockland County at the time but always followed Westchester news 'cause my dad worked in W'chester and i liked W'chester better) that a toll collector on the Hutchinson River Parkway tollbooths in Pelham Manor was shot dead after the motorist (I think it was northbound) rolled down the window and fired shots right at the toll collector(the tolls were removed 16 years after the incident)

I remember the victim's name was Edmund Dante and was from Queens. I remembered the cops on the news saying "we got a lot of coooks, drunks and celebrities driving through here" and were totally at a loss as to why someone would have done this

Does anyone remember this and was the case ever heard from again?
