We are a British family moving over to Westchester in Jan 2010. I have a 2.5 year old son who has cerebral palsy and needs physical therapy every day. He is an independent little boy and already attends a mainstream Montessori pre-school 3 mornings a week.

I'm looking for a part-time pre-school for him in the White Plains area where he can go for 2-3 mornings or afternoons a week. I've been in touch with the Childcare Council of Westchester and they gave me a list of schools, but unfortunately they don't offer half-day classes. It would be too much for my son to attend a full day of school and then go to 90 minutes of physical therapy.

We could consider a full day class twice a week if school finishes at 3pm or if they allow a physical therapist to come and work with him at school. So far I've not found a school like that. Can anyone suggest? We will be living in downtown White Plains and my husband will be working in Armonk and Somers.

My son attends the Hitchcock School, a nursery school located in the Hitchcock Presbyterian Church (not affiliated) in Scarsdale. It is right off of the Bronx River Parkway and very close to White Plains. They offer morning classes from 9:00-11:45am. The website isn't totally up-to-date, but it has the address and phone number and will give you a general idea. It's Stats about all US cities - real estate, relocation info, house prices, home value estimator, recent sales, cost of living, crime, race, income, photos, education, maps, weather, houses, schools, neighborhoods, and more

Good luck!

Thanks, I checked the website and it looks promising. I haven't looked at anything outside of White Plains since we're very new to the area (I visited White Plains for a few days in October), but I will certainly get in touch with them and see if it works out.
