This latest silliness with Cablevision and Scripps (FoodTV & HGTV) has me seriously looking at Verizon FiOS.

I have the triple package from Cablevision, voice, cable and Internet, and would appreciate anyone's experience who has made the switch.

when we first moved into our current rental we had fios installed. so far we loved it. we got the triple bundle service with a discount for the first three months. it's cheaper and better than cable. the installation was a bit pain and it took the poor guy full day to do it. but the service so far has been very good.

FIOS is cheaper and from what I hear from others with it, better (i.e. sharper HD). The only reason I haven't switched is they require a contract to start and I'm kind of in a state of flux over the next year or two as to where I'll be.

I had Cablevision intill 2007 , then i switched to FIOS in Early 08' , its way better. The Internet is much faster , the TV is clearer and they have 3x more channels then IO or Cablevision. Its also cheaper.

FIOS is so much better, cablevision always went out for us both TV and Internet. As soon as it was available near us we switched. More channels too.

Does FIOS have any regional or other sports packages like DirecTV? I really want to switch but my husband will not let go of his Laker games (we just moved from LA ).

Be aware that FiOS doesn't have MSNBC. A HUGE sticking point with my husband and although we like the service he really wants to switch because of this. They told us in July that they were working on it and would have it soon, but so far they do not.

But is that only true where you are (your location says "Chapel Hill" which I presume is NC) or is that national?

FIOS by far

the picture was so much clearer and the internet service is much faster.

I had cablevision at one time as well, they don't hold a candle to FIOS though. I don't have the chance to watch television that often, but verizon gives you so many channels its crazy.
