Pros:
1. It's beautiful. Pretty parks, pretty drives.
2. The school districts are fantastic (that's why people move up here from NYC and make the commute after they have kids).
3. Easy commute to NYC using different modes of transport: train, cars, buses.
4. Great restaurants (coming from NYC, I was surprised at how good they are).
5. Diversity of areas: you can get all kinds of homes in all kinds of areas. I've lived in "luxury condos" and an old home (I had fewer problems with the old home).
Cons:
1. Price of homes.
2. Taxes.
3. Cost of living (yes...it's high).
4. Compared to being in NYC, you have to commute.
5. Critters (chipmunks, raccoons, deer)... yes cute to look at... but...
