Hi, I came across your post today and am in a very similar situation. We will be moving to NY from CT and would be open to renting in either Westchester or Eastchester depending on the best school district for our son who qualifies as gifted. It would help tremendously if you could share your experience/insight with us.
Look forward to hearing from you.
You will not find the equivalent of a full time NYC G&T program in Westchester, where bright students take all their classes at the advanced level 5 times a week. Some Westchester districts have pull out programs and limited G&T. Take a look at Briarcliff Manor, they have a limited G&T. In Long Island, check Garden City (although I heard GC was making cuts to its G&T program).

By the way, Westchester is a county. Eastchester is a town (village? city?) in the county of Westchester.
