I have a small leak in my kitchen ceiling when it rains hard and wanted to find out if I need a new roof. I called one roofer and he just gave me an estimate for a new roof and that was it. I am disappointed that he didn't climb on a ladder to investigate to see if there was a problem in the gutter causing the leak (I have a two story house), so I decided not to use him.

Thanks.

whats the age of your roof. If its a small leak it doesn't sound like you need a new roof. I don't know any roofers I can recommend though :/

It's a shingled roof about 25 years old, it's been done once since the house was built 52 years ago. I just received two roofer names from neighbors but haven't called them yet. Is it possible to do a patch job on the problem area if the shingles in the leak area are the problem? My house is two stories so a patch job in the back roof of the house wouldn't even been noticeable. I suppose no roofer would offer to patch it when they can get more money for an entire new roof.

Thanks.

Call AF&Sons contracting. Greg uses a roofer named Ian. He patched my roof, but I have slate. Not sure if patching works with shingle. But, I can't imagine why not.

Call Werkheiser Roofers. They are great and work with all types of roofs. One thing to keep in mind, its the busy time of the year for most roofers. Especially with all the damage that storm caused 3 weeks ago.

So if you are really in need, you should call several roofers to see which can assist you in the shortest amount of time. Also make sure that they are fully insured and licensed to do to the work.

Good luck!
