Hello, I've already put a call into the Municipal Parking Number to find out wether there is a wait to receive a parking permit at the Pleasantvile train station, but have not heard back from anyone. Can anyone living there tell me if there is a wait for a resident, and wether the other areas to park, are enough for the over flow? I know some towns have a few years wait, and would like to know this before we put any bids on housing there. Thank you!

There was when I checked a few years ago. You can hunt around for metered parking ($6 bucks for 12 hours) or "unofficial" spots on the street w/in walking distance. If you live in the town of Mt. Pleasant, which you do if you live in Pleasantville, you can park at the Hawthorne or Valhalla stations (5 minute drive) where there is no wait -- you simply need to buy a pass for a hundred or two a year (I forget).

The Hawthorne lot often fills up by 8. The Valhalla lot doesn't.

Hmmm, so there was a wait, like all the popular Westchester towns? Ugh...

I got a Pleasantville resident pass for the train lot last June and there was no wait - just walked right in and got one. The thing with that office unfortunately is they have one very sweet and nice lady working there but the phone doesn't get answered regularly and I don't think they check messages at all. I had to send my real estate agent in to check on the parking situation in person when we were moving from Los Angeles.

I believe you have to be in the actual village part of P-ville to get a resident pass, not just in P-ville PO or schools. So they are strict about who they give resident parking to but I think there is plenty available. Most days the lot doesn't even fill up. And there are side lots off of Manville and Bedford Road that probably have even more availability.

Bottom line I guess is to go to the village office in person and ask or send your agent there to find out for you.
