Charlotte-based Duke Energy says it will change plans to build an electrical
substation near a ridge that overlooks a site sacred to the Cherokee tribe.
It has identified two alternative sites and will pick one by the end of the year.
The tribe considered the Kituwah mound its ancestral birthplace.
