I am getting ready to move to barnardsville, nc right above Ashville. I was wondering what kind of jobs are available there if any. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

First, it is Asheville with an e in the middle.

The standard advice on this board is bring your job or money with you.

It might help if you gave us an indication about what sort of job you are looking for or feel qualified to fill. But, the primary economic drivers are tourism and health care. Retail is always a revolving door. That's about it.

Why exactly are you moving somewhere without knowing how to spell the name of the city and without a job?

The only kind of job you are guaranteed to find is in a hotel or restaurant, even if you have a bachelors.

I think I posted this before but I have a friend who started looking for jobs in Western N.C late June/Early July. She got several offers in Asheville but she accepted a job in the Boone area. She loves it. So jobs may be hard to come by, as they are pretty much every place in this economy but it is not impossible.
If you truly have your heart set on WNC and have some means of support and money saved I would not let people discourage me. I would take all the info and use it to make your best decision. But I do know there are jobs available. Try Craigslist etc. Good luck

Oh yeah, she is from Florida too! lol. But she has a very upbeat and positive personality. It took her a while and she went thru a lot of dead ends before she found what she wanted.
