I was up in the area to go kayaking up the french broad river at Rosman NC
and we stopped to get gas in Brevard. We saw Ingles had a gas station and I never have seen a grocery chain have a gas station so that is the place we went to fill up. While pumping the gas over the speaker I heard someone say I need assistance at register 14. I was like register 14 how big is this gas station. lol. I thought it was funny they have that going over the gas station speakers what a hoot. I guess it to keep the attendant in the loop of whats going on in the store just never heard anything like it.

It is a hoot to be pumping gas and hear someone ask for a "price check". We stop for gas at our Ingles all the time since they're normally the cheapest around. Spending time in England every year we normally shop at the same grocery store and it's a very similar set up...grocery store on one end of the carpark with a gas station at the exit..it's the same thing with their intercom system as well. Funniest thing was to hear the cafe attendant call for someone to "pick up two cod and chips please".

Hope you enjoyed your trip!

Marketing Technique I would say.

Better than same inane music I don't want to listen to, as some stations here in FL do.

First time I heard the PA I was a bit startled too. I also asked myself, Why?
Still cant figure out the right answer.

Another bit of advice on Ingles, pay attention to the price on the shelf and the price on the receipt. About 1 in 3 trips I am charged the wrong price. Especially on Sunday mornings. They run their specials/sales Sunday-Saturday and have big problems with the cutover to the new prices

I have problems with the amount of product being in stock like say my biggest pet peeve is the 10 for 10 sales like if they put lucks products on sale ten for 10 they never have enough microwave chicken and dumpling to meet what the add says ....you go and there is 5 on the shelf when the sale says 10 for 10 you can't get ten of item that isn't there then you have to get a rain check or run to 4 ingles and waste gas to get what you need......

I've been to the Ingles in Hendersonville, Howard Gap Rd. to get gas one time and am still wondering why they have a woman with a towel around her head who doesn't speak a work of english working at the gas station.

I don't understand please explain? What does my color have to do with my comment or are you one of these racist troller types who sees race in every situation and has to comment to start trouble.
Or are you saying you went thru the same thing as me? Just wondering is all?

I do agree with you it is pretty ignorant to put someone in a position where they have to deal with the public (mostly english and spanish speaking) who can't speak either language if it be here or any other country. The person with me speaks fluent spanish and they even tried.
