On a different story state republican lawmakers want to restrict this hospital growth.
All lawmakers from Western NC are against it and talks have been put on hold.

The regulations would, among other restrictions, impose a 10-mile operating buffer zone around Mission and limit the number of doctors it can employ in counties where it already operates
I had coronary bypass at Mission and it was the best experience it could have been. Quality professionals who care about patients. What else could a person ask for in a hospital? Oh, and the Integrative Care is a gift.
Last time I visited a friend that just had back surgery in Mission, I passed a room with a handmade sign on the door that said;
"Feed me
bath me
please"
I Ended up making a run down to the Wendy's just down Biltmore Ave. to pick up some food for my friend, who after being in their room for over 8 hours and asking repeatedly, had not been given anything to eat, just 'ice chips'.
They were not on any dietary restrictions, just ignored.
I personally don't know of anyone who had good experiences at mission, SS. Myself and two close family members battling cancer included (both of whom ended up going to Wake Forest for proper care). You have to keep in mind that these types of polls are everywhere and to take them with a grain of salt anyways. I bet every slightly larger hospital in the country can claim "top something or another" if they submit info to enough places.
I had a fabulous experience at Mission. I was born there!
Sorry, couldn't resist.
The odd thing is that Mission can attract good doctors. I know someone who recruited doctors and he could never get anywhere with Mission because they had doctors coming out of the woodwork to work there. They didn't need to work with recruiters.
Of course, doctors are not the only key to a good hospital. What happened to you and your family members?
