I'd say the high end is where the money is going to be for you to do renovation type work. My dad owned his own HVAC company in Ann Arbor and retired East of Ashevllle. He tried to do a little work on the side, but ended up working for peanuts. That was a few years ago, before the boom that has hit Asheville recently. I live in NYC now. The culture and what they average people will pay for construction work is sooooooo different. If however, you can manage to get into the high end stuff.... there is plenty of that Yankee money around.

Yeh...well..I'm on LI..45 minutes to NYC (on the Gold Coast in Cold Spring HArbor as you can see in my web site in my profile) and I really wonder if it'd be a culture shock for me or a breath of fresh air...I don't wanna kid myself one way or another. Its fine to make less money if things cost less...I spose' when the time comes a good two week vacation down there might help if I get serious about it.
Did I say two week vacation? Yikes...I don't think I've taken more than one week in my whole life...lol.
