It looks like Asheville will be our last desination for us...finally!

I have read all about the awesome school system in Mooresville, how about Asheville? Asheville sounds so progressive and liberal, I am surmising the public schools are just as nice? Thanks for any info, we are moving in May!

Asheville is split into two districts, the Asheville City Schools and Buncombe County Schools. Just because you live in the City of Asheville does not mean that students will attend the city schools. I live in the city (southern part) and my son is in the Buncombe County School system. The city schools are more ethnically diverse, and I don't really have much information other than that I heard they are good, and most certainly well above average for the state. The Buncombe County schools are also very good. I lived in Wilmington for 5 years and my son attended there, and the schools in Buncombe County are much better than they were out in Wilmington. As far as districts within the county are concerned, some are better than others. We live in the Roberson district and that is a very good high school. I've also heard that the Reynolds district is good as well (it's also in the southern part of the county). Not too sure about the rest of it. Hope this helps.
