A BIG yellow bus - how big? Maybe I should buy that big ole spooky mansion that's been deserted for 20 years - could really be fun then. We'd all end up sleeping in that bus. I suspect we will all meet each other one day - you all sound like a fun bunch.

I moved here from Ohio which gets quite hot AND humid. What is getting me is at our apartment the SUN just beats the hell out of you. There is some shade but not a lot where I need to walk my doggies. 😔. Once the sun gets behind the mountain it's wonderful but until it's brutal. Can't wait to find a house!!!🌞🌞

Let me just say I have been saying for years now the North Carolina weather is bi-polar. I have been here since 1998 (with the exception of a short move to SC for 3 years) and it has always been hot and humid in Spring, summer, and fall. It's like there are only 2 seasons here, winter and summer. Heck I was just in Destin, Fl last week and even though it was 90-93 is was cooler then it is here.

If the WNC Regs & Faves 'group', or some/most individuals are not opposed, I can toss up a pic of those willing to be in a group shot.

I suspect many of us here are on FB, and we just don't 'know' each other, except from the Board and DMs.
GL, mD

PS: fan wobble...only a couple of causes. upper mount that screws into ceiling box is not tight/level, (the ceiling box is often skewed and the threaded mounts in that 'box' are often cheap azz/stripped), Or the fan blades are way out of balance. A 3rd possibility is that the globe fan motor is skewed, but rarely. Down rods can be 'off', but haven't had that problem in 30 years of down rods, some quite lengthy. Beat on 'em organic_donna!
The electrician was back today. The fan is made by Progress. They had so many complaints about the wobble that the company who made the fan came out. They said there was nothing they could do to fix it, and the down rod had to be shorter. I think I am going to just order the 48" down rod and pay to have it changed . The electrician admitted that he did not feel any breeze from the fan.

Yeah. Here's the difference: next week it's gonna cool down. In Destin, it's gonna STAY 90-93 for a good. long. while. And when that Gulf gets even hotter, it'll be a real hoe-down hootenanny.

When we used to have our little vacation home in Kenilworth Forest, I was surprised at how hot the summers were there. Almost as hot and humid as the coastal city in FL where we currently live, but with NO BREEZE (which we always have here). I would never have been able to stay in that house without AC. Of course as mentioned above, the heat doesn't last as long. And the weather just goes from hot to pretty cold without much break, at least to me.

As others have said, I think you really have to get high in altitude to experience much cooler summers.

I don't know if it's just me but I just moved from NE Ohio and though it IS hot I have found the humidity not as high. Without the gray skies of NE Ohio the heat doesn't seem as oppressive to me for the little I am out in it. (I'm in Asheville)

A little about me I grew up in Los Angeles joined the military and lived in Texas, Mississippi, Colorado, Okinawa, Louisiana, San Diego, and NE Ohio. So I have experienced my share of heat and humidity. And I know I don't like it!! Hahahaha

I'm still in shock from all the blue sky I've seen the past 2 weeks. 😀
