I'm currently a grad student looking to get moved back to Asheville or the surrounding area with a few fur babies and would to find a place to rent for <$600 a month. I'm not too worried about size, as long as it's fur baby friendly and reasonably priced. I'm only going to be there for about a year as well.

Good luck. Asheville isn't pet friendly. And $600.00 you might be able to get a room mate & split a place.

Asheville's housing crisis for pets limits renters

No idea if this woman found a place to rent with her dog. Asheville is very pet friendly, if you either already have your own place or can find a place to share that has/allows pets. You will probably have to go with more rural and less preferred from your choice to make this work. Good luck.

Sure it's friendly if you have a small dog but that's about it even the article you posted says so.

We looked for months for an affordable rental that would allow dogs. There were some apartment buildings that allowed pets, but none were in the $600 range. Some rentals specified cats only.

This might help you get a feel for what's available.

We followed it for several months. Seems that lately there are more people looking for a place to rent than people listing rentals.

I'm thinking your best bet might be trailer. I've seen some listed that allowed pets.
