OP....I don't know if you are working with, or plan to work with a realtor, but even if you're not sure if you will work with one, you could contact one and ask them if they can send you a link with the city boundaries, being clear to tell them that you are trying to avoid city taxes and that you want a boundary map and are not yet looking at individual properties. (Try to head them off at the pass in regards to things like: "Well! *This* one isn't in the city!...buy it!) Be clear that you want a MAP as you BEGIN to search.

Oh. And then post it here please!

Again, are you thinking of moving Becky?
I sent you a message about a week ago. Check your Direct messages inbox. Thinking about getting a second home up there.

I called the county and they told me to go on Buncombe GIS. I already have done that and the site is somewhat confusing. Apparently, there are some filters to use which I am unable to find. Someone is supposed to call me back to let me know how I can find it. Geesh, You wouldn't think it would be that difficult. I will post the info once I get the answer.

I have noticed Google Maps has shown city limits on satellite mode recently. It is easier to see the incorporation limits for Asheville, Biltmore Forest, and Woodfin.

Thank you all! I think what was confusing me is that the city limits run all the way to Arden. I thought that was strange because I was thinking city limits are just in Asheville. I did some further investigating by looking on Simplicity to confirm some addresses. Apparently, maps like Maptechnica.com are correct.

Well clearly, it had us all confused. I suppose because common sense would dictate that such a boundary line is odd!

I think you are confusing mailing addresses with city limits. Just because a property has an Asheville mailing address does not mean it is inside the city limits.
