Holding on through the rain....-20180520_112514.jpg

We were blessed alright, with hurt and hardship.

Thanks, the rains washed out our road as well
as my driveway. It's a private road, with 10
Houses so the repairs are up to residents.

I know....sounds like MD holiday weekend could be even worse than last week, depending on the track of the storm...

Our house is still here. Gravel was washed out in places but that has been replaced.

I know. I saw Chimney Rock had to shut down because a retain wall (I think around the parking lot) collapsed.

We've not seen much rain so far here north of Weaverville' less than a quarter inch since this rainy spell started. The triangle between Leicester, Hot Springs and Weaverville historically has had under 40" annually. Supposedly the area around Weaverville was called Dry Ridge by the Native Americans.

When the drizzle lets up I'm going out to make sure the thank-you-m'ams are still in good shape. We have a quarter-mile gravel driveway that's steep in parts.
