Friends, Bill and I would like to THANK YOU (you know who you are) for the help and understanding you've given us during our first year on this forum. When we found this amazing exchange, we were already well into 15 months of real estate quicksand. Since then we have rented, sold, purchased, and moved, and are now, after only six days, entirely out of boxes, already enjoying a clean, fully stocked kitchen and operational TVs, telephones, and computer systems. We worked day and night this past week, desperate to get our lives back.
It's been a long road, but thanks to friends like you, it hasn't been lonesome and it hasn't felt hopeless. GOD BLESS YOU ALL--including you moderators, who do a fantastic job!!!
We spent this entire seventh day resting and GIVING THANKS.
love,
Jan & Bill

Jan so good to hear you guys are all settled in and could rest today!
I know there were times in the last year when you thought you'd never be done with all this real estate stuff and just be free to live your lives - you are living proof that perserverance and faith do pay off in the end
So glad you're home, RELAXING now I hope, and especially with all that closing routine done and over with. And a gold star to the person who directed you to the wonderful neighborhood you chose and won! To experience your new digs in May here...my favorite month, you have indeed been blessed. And thank you, too, for sharing so much with us, always a fine thing to do.
"RELAXING," gigimac?? Well, now, that's a thigh-slapper! ha ha... but we got your meaning, and we are enjoying the work of each day now. As of yesterday, we're not physically exhausted, legs of stone, hands swollen. For you seniors out there, we honestly do not think we could do this again, say, in 5-10 years, and are greatly relieved that we got through it now. (And we're still both in excellent health, just not young any more. The legs, the back, the feet--they just don't take the abuse they used to.)
OH GOSH... (blush)... thanks for your faith in us and our journey, LiveLoveLaugh. We doubted ourselves at times, believe me. We've even had a few nasty talks with God along the way (sorry to say). Fortunately, God loved us enough to ignore us and went right along with His plan. As a result, we are exactly where we should be at exactly the right time. Isn't God wonderful....!!!
P.S. Thanks again to COOPER for leading us to Eastmoor!!! Gold star, indeed!!!!
(and say Hi to the Browns for me. They live about 2/3rds up the hill on Eastmoor Dr. before you get to Newcross. Good friends of ours for years, but we don't see them as much as we used to..)
Thanks, cooper!! We'll look out for Steve & Julie and tell them how we came to their neighborhood. This community amazes us more every day. There's a residents' directory including names of residents and children, address, phone, email... in the front of it, a list of HOA members to contact for help... and, in the back, a list of all the services one could ever need--all recommended (and renewed each year) by residents themselves. Everyone who walks by welcomes us--and were expecting us! In June there will be a garage sale sponsored and advertised by the HOA. You tell them you have stuff to sell and they put a balloon on your mailbox. People come from all over Asheville to their garage sales. I could go on and on about this community... but then these are the same nice people we have found all over this region!!!
