What is the best resource to find reasonable furnished short term rentals in the asheville area? My husband and I are relocating for a professional job and want something nice but cannot pay tourist prices.

Zillow, and Craigslist. The later has a lot of scamming going on so be careful. I have a 3100 square ft house in downtown Weaverville on Zillow, priced at $3500. I need a year long lease though.
Good luck, the rental and sale markets are brutal.

Nothing in the AVL area will be reasonable, and the busy season for rentals is approaching. Expect to pay $2500+ monthly at the least, and if you can even find it. Good luck.

You may want to have a look at VRBO and AirBNB too. These owners are accustomed to renting for a few days to a few weeks. You probably can negotiate 3 whole months much easier with them, than with a traditional rental agency that will want a 1 year lease.

If someone can get $200+ per night plus cleaning fees on a VRBO but is willing to rent it to you for under $80 then I say go for it. There’s been a change in the area traffic since Covid and the protesting and someone may just bite on guaranteed income through the spring. Good luck.

Airbnb and vrbo. Contact the owners and inquire about the price for a 3 month stay. If your time frame is now, before summer, you'll stand a good chance of getting a decent price.

Check out River Mill Lofts near Biltmore Village, a very nice (and brand new) apartment complex which has three month leases for just $300 more per month than a traditional lease. ($1600-$1800 a month) River Mill Lofts - Luxury Apartments on the Swannanoa River in Asheville

My contacts in the Airbnb/VRBO market are telling me that they are doing gang busters because people are staying away from hotels because of covid.
