My husband, and I have requested financial info from our treasurer/secretary. she has stated in the minutes that the books are open to anyone at any time. Her last reply was that we requested it too many times. And that my husband has burned his bridges, and nuked his ashes, and that any more attempts to contact her she will consider it a form of harrasment. We went to the President, and she said that it was none of our business. And if we contact her any more than she'll also consider it a form of harrasment. I'm at my wits end with these village idiots. Can anyone help us?

Sounds like it's time for an attorney.

I don't think I have seen a positive post about HOAs here or any other forums they are discussed on.

Why do people continue to put their lives in the hands of, as you expressed it "these village idiots"?

Attorney does sound like your last option, or roll over like a good subservient HOA dues payer, but I suspect that isn't your style either.

hoa's are incorporated under the secretary of state. corporations are regulated by statutes 55a and hoa's are regulated by statutes 47f if created after dec 1999. as a member you have a right to view the hoa books and the members have a right to bring for a motion for an audit.if the motion passes then they will have to have an audit by a outside agency.
