considering relocating to nc from nj and am wondering what life is like in the asheville (ashville) which one? area. lived in the mountains of pa for 13 years and loved it - just hate the cold and snow. i don't want to be super isolated - a deli within a mile, supermarket within 10 miles is ok. what are some of the towns there and what is life like? thanks.

It's Asheville. Named after Samuel Ashe (1725-1813). Ashe served as the governor of North Carolina from 1795 to 1798.

Not much snow here. Average winter total is 15.2". So far this year, 1.9".

Average daily temperture for the month of January is a high of 45.9 and a low of 25.8 degrees.

Some much smaller towns in the Asheville Metro area worth looking into:

Hendersonville
Brevard
Weaverville
Black Mountain
Mars Hill
Madison
