Would anyone have any insight on what it is like to live in the really small-town environment in Western North Carolina? I know that it is a great spot to vacation, but what does it feel like to actually live there?
We bought some land near Western Carolina University several years ago with the thought of someday retiring there. Now that retirement is getting closer, we can always keep on track with our original plan or sell the land at a nice profit and look elsewhere.
So any info on the area regarding healthcare, cost to build, general feeling toward newcomers, crime, etc. would be appreciated!
