The greenlife at Greenlife is the bacteria growth on the employees. We stopped by to pick up a few veggies and while making a selection, an employee starting restocking some veggies. Wow the BO emanating from this guy was rancid and overpowering. I put down what I had selected and got the hell out of there.
I have no problem with bark eaters and tree huggers, but dang it, bathe once in a while.
I occasionally shop there (they have good pulled pork for lunch periodically)and I don't find that to be the norm. Most of my shopping though is done at Ingles out of convenience...it's nothing special but it's far from the worst grocers I've seen. The Fresh Market is great but it's too expensive for an average joe like myself. As for WallMart I think it's the devil and try to avoid going there unless it's the only place I can find something. And lastly I don't care where people who live in Biltmore Forest shop. No offense to anyone here who might live there, but I've yet to meet anyone from BF that didn't have a "holier than though" attitude towards everyone else around them.

Didn't say it was the norm, but this fella was riper than any produce in the store

Where is Biltmore Forest? And why do they have a holier than though attitude?

Upscale communities like Biltmore Forest (southwest Asheville, near town and Biltmore House, beautifully forested but without views) are often tagged as arrogant, highbrow, supercilious, condescending, etc., because doctors, dentists, lawyers, realtors, and other higher-income people can afford to live there--but what an unfair generalization!! Our wonderful, down-to-earth, hard-working Asheville realtor lives there. She's a classy lady, but there's no hint of "holier than thou" in her. Recently we attended a gathering in BF, hosted by a doctor's widow--again, nothing but generous hospitality and down-to-earth goodness in her and her many friends present. Her home was "well appointed" but not ostentatious.
Drive through BF in anything less than a Lexus, and expect to be stopped by the BF Police while they find out why you are in their town.
But we have experts (above) that just moved here from Kalifornia and know all about how down to earth these people are, yea right.
Actually, Native, we drove through BF just a few weeks ago in our Hyundai, and had three people who were out walking wave to us. We also stopped and asked a woman walking her dog for directions, and she kept us almost 10 minutes chatting about the area and the neighborhood. Is it possible that your contempt of transplants and the wealthy shows through in your demeanor when you interact with them, leading to negative interactions? Are you sure you're not the one looking down your nose at these people?

Reason: I name-called
Those who complain about others need only a mirror and a healthy dose of Prozac to get "right with the world."
There are those who are not happy unless someone else is miserable. There are those who require putting down another person to help them feel like they are "higher on the ladder." There are those who despise folks who have lots of money because they, themselves, do not. There are those who despise those who do not have money and are homeless because "they should get a job."
And then there are those who embrace others as equals, created in the image of God, with the same capacities for love and the same needs to be loved.
Patch Adams said that people are the same all around the world. It is the "clothing" of religion, politics, culture, and attitude that we CHOOSE to put over our true selves. And it is that "clothing" that not only masks our true selves from others, but also distorts our view of ourselves.
This Thanksgiving, may we each look past our differences and find a commonality in the joy that we are alive in this world with the capability to converse in this forum. Let us set aside the differences. We do not all enjoy cranberry sauce and we do not all make stuffing the same way. But we can feast together in peace nonetheless.
