Looking for names and opinion/experience on any and all private schools in and around Asheville. We'll be living just east of Asheville, but would like to hear of all private schools in the area. Thanks very much!!

Christ School in Arden, The Asheville School in West Asheville, and Carolina Day in South Asheville are the three largest, I believe.

North Asheville Christian School is another, and Asheville Christian Academy, in Swannanoa, is probably closest to where you'll be living.

My neighbor's daughter goes to Carolina Day, and another neighbor's sons went to Christ School. Pricey, but good experiences from both.

My kids are at Asheville Christian. We have only been there a short time, but really like it. We did not know where we wanted to live (still don't) but decided to ground our kids in a school and we are glad to be at ACA. I have really not heard any negatives about any of the privates. There may be a bit of attitude at some of the more exclusive schools, but perhaps you get that anywhere.
Good luck!

Hi, My two girls go to Rainbow Mountain Children's School and I can't say enough good things about it! We will be entering our third year next year. Our youngest is in preschool, our oldest in 3rd grade. The classes are small, experiential, project-based and the girls LOVE school. It is spiritual in a global, multi-cultural and environmental sense, so all faiths are welcome and honored. In fact, each day begins with centering and learning to function in community is a part of the curriculum. For more info, check out their website Welcome to Rainbow Mountain

My son goes to Odyssey Community School. It has a wonderful staff, great curriculum. It is truly innovative and will be neighbors (and partners) with the new Momentum Science Park. It across the street from UNC-A and the Botanical gardens. I think it really does what it promises on its website: odysseycommunity.org

Welcome to Asheville!
