That's a pretty inappropriate comment, and I wish your "name" wasn't overlandpark because comments like that make Johnson County look bad, and you do not represent Johnson County.

There was a recent story on NPR about income disparity between Blacks and Whites. This income disparity is 20% less in small towns, they used Tulsa as an example. It seems that the very activity that the OP is looking for is what they recomend in order to have upward mobility. The exchange of ideals among professionals like your self. Kind of like what happens on the counrty club golf course.

Wow.
Kc has a history of hate crimes against blacks....I could see why someone would ask that question.

Also, whata wrong with gay people or black people meet?
Other races don't like to data black people,or not at the rate they data Asians.

The question was for Wichita, not Kansas City.

And what do you mean KC has a history of hate crimes against blacks? That's news to me and I have lived around Kansas City all my 50-something years.

And yet, you wonder why the OP wants to know where they can meet other black people, when you are so open, friendly, and non-judgmental, right?

Y'all come visit now you hear.

Sorry, but I meant Kansas in general.
My mistake, but you can't deny your state has a history of segregation and racism.
Just check out the previous posts.

Other than the fact that I don't understand why someone from Jersey would even be in this thread, I'd suggest you educate yourself a bit before going further. You have no clue.

Just because one poster posted something dumb, does not make KS a racist haven.

And that's a stereotype you have heard, and I bet you have never even been to Kansas. It's not true at all. Have you ever heard of John Brown and the underground railroad? Kansas was a FREE State during the Civil War, not a slave state. And you "Y'all come visit now you hear" comment proves you are stereotyping and actually makes me laugh it's so ridiculous. That is something you'd hear in the south; it's not a Kansas thing. And no, Kansas isn't the south. That's actually a quote from the Beverly Hillbillies, and I think the Beverly Hillbillies were from Tennessee - but at any rate, it's a TV show. Don't show your ignorance by forming stereotypes about places based on what you have "heard" and seen on TV. That's true ignorance. If you haven't been to Kansas, you know nothing about Kansas.

You should really bone up on your history before you make ignorant comments.

One thing we agree on - thank goodness you live in Jersey!!
